A full arch can be replaced with a fixed bridge carried on several implants, rather than a denture resting on the gum. It does not come out, and it does not cover the palate.
It is a substantial treatment: surgical planning from a 3D scan, placement, a healing period, a provisional set of teeth and then the final ones. It is also, for someone struggling with a full denture, a different way of living.
Fixed in place — cleaned in the mouth, not taken out.
Cleaning underneath, daily, is what keeps it; a superfloss or water flosser is the usual tool.
Healing is months, and a provisional set of teeth covers the gap.
Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes both reduce the odds considerably.
Results vary. Your treatment plan depends on an exam. Nothing on this page is a promise about how your own treatment will turn out.
What actually happens, in order.
